Matty's 5th Birthday!!

Today is Matty's 5th doggy birthday!  I can't believe she is 5 years old already and George is about to be 7!  I remember when we first went to get Matty.  She was the only girl so she learned quickly to be dominant and mean to all the boys.  She literally cried and cried all the way home!  We wondered about her.  :) Poor George wasn't very fond of Matty at first but after a week or so he really enjoyed her company while we were at work.  She's been such a good dog and is so sweet (when she wants to be)!

Did you know this about Matty?
1) Her favorite thing to do is eat!  She only lets George eat when I fuss at her or when she is snoozing!
2) She loves to smell--she goes crazy when she smells rabbits or any other scent.
3) She is scared to death of coyotes.  When she sees one when she is in the backyard she goes crazy to let her in the house.  Side note--our backyard fence is tall enough so a coyote should not be able to harm my babies!
4) The mornings are when Matty is the sweetest.  Every morning she will give you kisses and hugs (leans on you) but she expects a good rub!
5) Matty knows how to sit for a treat but otherwise she is pretty stubborn.  I haven't been able to teach her much else, such as shake, roll, etc.
6) Matty's fur is so soft.  I think it gets softer the older she gets.  She is beautiful!  Did you know she won the Miss Plus Size Beauty Pageant!?!

Here are some very recent pictures of our Matty-Girl!
I love this picture of Matty!

Look at that precious little face!
Day dreaming...
She says, "What do you want?  Can you PLEASE just leave me alone?"
She's ready to go!
Just relaxing at Nese's house!
So tired....
Nap time...
Who are Matty's two best pals?  Grace and George, of course!
Here is Grace taking a little rest after the three of them played this weekend.
Here is Matty's handsome brother, George!

I went through my photos and picked a few of my favorites of Matty.  These are all older pictures of Miss May--she is such a cutie pie!

She looks so young (and lean)!!  The older you get the plumper you get...it is true for dogs too!
Goofy girl!
Don't mind her--she has to be comfortable!
A country girl will survive...
This was the picture she was telling me to kiss her butt because she didn't want her picture taken!  Love it!
Happy Birthday Miss Matty!  Mommy, daddy, and George love you!
--I'm goofy I know but you've got to have some fun in life, right?!?--

Beagle Time

It's Beagle Time...
George and Matty decided it was time for them to have another post on this blog.  They like being blog superstars!!  :)

George is my little guy!  He is so smart and really doesn't think he is a dog--he believes he is a human!
Matty is hilarious.  For her to have a wonderful day, it simply consist of yummy food, sleeping, and a little rabbit hunting.  Oh, and don't forget more food scraps!
George doesn't really like to sleep much because he is afraid he is going to miss some action.  He usually likes to have a least one eye open to make sure he knows what is going on.  He doesn't want to miss an opportunity to go outside and sniff or go for a ride somewhere!
See I told you Matty loves food.  She sits by the bowls to protect her food.  Poor George rarely gets to eat (only when Matty is sleeping)!  She is so freakin' adorable though!  I just love her!
I can't imagine my life without my Georgie-Boy!
They never want to be left!  They love to go for rides in the farm truck!

I am sure you are asking yourself: I guess this is what people with no children do---blog about their pups?  Yep, you got it!  I love every minute of it too!  :)

Aerial Picture of our House/Land

This morning as soon as we got back from our traditional breakfast taco weekend stop, a car pulled up behind us and showed us the below picture of our house and land that was shot back in May.  Of course she was trying to sell us an aerial picture that was taken by the company she works for.  So what do we do?  We purchase a picture for a small fortune (pretty pricey in my opinion but we thought it was pretty cool).  Actually we got to keep the original picture you see below but we picked a different finish (a more country looking, matte finish that has texture to it).  The overall picture will be slightly enlarged and the neighbors chicken coops will be cropped out as well as all of the hay equipment scattered by the barn.  However, once you pay for this expensive piece of artwork, they leave you with the original, unaltered print as well.  The finish product will arrive in 6-8 weeks.  The frame they provide is made by the Amish and is very pretty even though I am a barn wood type of gal!
Besides being sick from spending some unplanned money, I am excited to see the finished product because I think the original is pretty neat since it shows the entrance Bryan built, our land, barn, and home!  We have worked hard for our land and home and now we can see what we worked/are working for each day hanging on the wall.  I think we will love this pictures for many years to come.

Papa

This weekend we went to visit my Grandpa at his pasture.  Well actually we were delivering hay to him but it also turned into a nice little visit.  I LOVE seeing Papa work at the pasture--it is his home away from home!

Papa, Bryan, and I all squeezed into the Mule and took a ride to feed the cows!
This little baby is a cutie!
This is also one of my favorite heifers that he's got.
Papa checking all his cows!
How sweet!
I love this stripped cow!
We had a great visit with Papa at the land.  It was such a beautiful weekend--fall is just around the corner and I am loving that!  Being in the country really does help you appreciate and love the simple things in life.  Country life is so peaceful and really does fill me with joy!
