Abby is eight months old…OMG is all I can say! I remember when she was an itty bitty newborn and now she is working on being such a big girl. In short, Abby is just perfect. She is beautiful inside and out. Her giggle will melt anyone’s heart. She makes the cutest and funniest faces, wants to be involved in what you are doing, and still prefers to be held. Yes, held! She is a little mover though. She won’t stay still because she knows what she wants and wiggles out of your arms to get it. Abby is still not crawling yet but getting closer each day. Who knows, she may never crawl and just start running one day. It’s bad but she likes to be held and Mommy loves to hold her. We will catch up eventually – no worries!
During this month, Abby got sick for the first time and boy was that hard. She had a stuffy nose and got a little bit of fever. On top of that, she is teething so she was just miserable for about a week. Daddy and Mommy had a hard time too because poor Abby was fussy and nothing could make her happy. My happy little precious baby is back and we missed her so, so much!
Teething…do I need to say more!?! Teething has been tough this month too. Abby’s poor gums hurt so she gets fussy and angry but who can blame her. She has two bottom teeth in so far but I bet some more will be coming in soon because she loves her teething toys and drooling like crazy at times. You can actually feel two top teeth coming in but they are not ‘full’ teeth just yet.
Okay, so we had a little bit of a tough month with Abbygale being sick and teething but OMG she is still the cutest, most precious baby girl alive. She is so sweet and Mommy’s little buddy (Daddy’s too)!
At eight months, Abby is up to a bunch:
• Her hair is growing. It still isn’t long enough for a pony tail or anything but getting thicker each day. Abby wears barrettes now sometimes.
• When she is mad, you will know it. She can scream in delight and scream because she is angry. She has a temper, no doubt!
• Abby has the longest, most beautiful eye lashes and the prettiest face Mommy has ever seen.
• Abby can point. She points and points and points!
• Abby is so good at waving ‘hi’ and ‘bye.’ She aced that!
• When she wants you, Abby puts her arms out for you now. She will also put her arm out and open and close her hand. This means “come get me.”
• Abby is a touchy-feely little girl. She loves to rub on clothes, sheets, blankets, and anything soft. I think she is going to be a blanket girl for sure!
• Abbygale is NOT crawling yet. Any day now though. She is strong enough but just doesn’t have the interest in crawling yet.
• Abby likes tummy time more and more these days. She is happy playing on her tummy for up to 30 minutes when she use to not stay happy on her tummy for longer than 5 minutes.
• Abby loves all her toys. She plays and plays and plays now! She no longer just sits content. She wants to be learning, which is wonderful.
• Abby loves TV. She watches Sesame Street and other than that we have it on Baby’s First. It is Baby Einstein type shows, which really do hold her interest.
• Abby LOVES iPhones. She likes the kid apps, but she also loves the iPhone as her teether. Thank goodness we have Otter Boxes to protect them! This is one expensive teether!
• Abby rolls to what she wants. She will roll and roll and roll to get to where/who she wants.
• Abby loves her puppies. She drops food for them and tries to pet them when they walk by. The dogs still don’t want much (if anything) to do with her.
• Abby loves to be outside. She is always so happy outside. She loves to sit in the grass, swing, or just watch Daddy work.
• Abby is a fairly good car rider these days. She gets antsy and Mommy entertains her in the back seat. She is still pretty good but you know she wants out because she lets you know.
• Abby still has small feet but I think that is a good thing. What woman wants big feet?!? She is still in a size 2 shoe.
• Abby is now in 12 month clothing. The 9 month skirts, shorts, and dresses still fit and are out but other than that she has moved into 12 month clothing.
• Abby is still in a size 3 diaper.
• Bath time is a blast at our house! Abbygale is our water baby – she loves to splash and play with her toys in the tub!
• Drinking juice seems to give Abby bad diaper rash but she really likes water!
• Abby is still drinking numerous bottles throughout the day (6 ounces). I would estimate 5-6 bottles daily.
• This month Abby was not the greatest eater with being sick and her teeth bothering her. She did decide she does not like stage 1 and 2 baby food. She spits it out. She likes real food such as grilled cheese, rice, pasta, and other breads. She still will eat the baby snacks but really tends to only like the baby Cheetos ones (vegetable). Hopefully, Abby picks up eating more this coming month!
• Abby is still NOT sleeping through the night. She goes to bed around 8-9 pm and sleeps until about 11. I give her a little bit of a bottle at 11 and she sleeps until 3-5 am, when she wants a little bit of a bottle again. She wakes up for the day anywhere from 6:30-7:30 am.
• Where does Abby sleep? With us, of course. She is right in the middle of the bed! The crib was a big waste of money at this point. We were hoping we could get her to sleep through the night and then transfer her to the crib but we haven’t been successful with either one to date.
• Abby is starting to like her exercauser and jumperoo less and less these days. She would rather be in the play room playing with you sitting right there with her playing of course!
• When Abby hears music, she will get excited and move her arms and/or legs fast. She has started dancing! She sings too and it is just adorable!
• Abby is only using her pacifiers when she is sleepy and trying to take a nap or go to bed. I am hoping to slowly remove the pacifiers completely but with my track record of moving her to her crib and getting her to sleep through the night, we will see how well this works out too!
• Abby likes jewelry. When I am wearing a ring or bracelet or necklace she likes to mess with them. She is going to be a girly-girl!!
• Sometimes Miss Abbygale is social and other times she isn’t so much! When she is tired she is very unsocial with strangers. Abby has even cried numerous times when someone she doesn’t really know talks to her. Please don’t be anti-social like your Daddy – be at least semi social!
• I think Abby is a shy girl. You are very bashful!
• You are such a sweetie pie! You can give sugars and hugs when you want to. On the other hand, you can pull hair and scratch too!
• Abby can turn around and around while sitting up. She sits on her bottom and moves in circles. She has just started to launch to her knees from the sitting position. She wants to pull up on things.
• Your eyes are still bluish-green and oh so beautiful!
• Abby shares her teethers, pacis, and toys with her Mommy. She is so thoughtful and thinks it is just hilarious!
• Abbygale loves to pull your hair (and it hurts)!!
Abby – Going from seven to eight months has been one of the hardest months for us but still one of the greatest months. Being sick and not feeling good doesn’t make for a happy baby but you tried your best to be happy. You are very easy going and as long as you are in the mix on what’s going on, you are content. You have changed so much in a month and really am passing the baby stage and moving up to the non-baby stage. You are getting so big and learning new things each and every day. If Mommy or Daddy smiles and laughs, you laugh with us. Those are just the best times ever! You really stare into our eyes and try to understand everything exactly. You are such a smart little girl! I catch myself just staring at you constantly but especially when you are sleeping like an angel. I am just mesmerized by you. You have grown so much and look like such the beautiful Little Lady. You are such the right mix of everything and perfect in your Mommy and Daddy’s eyes. You are getting such the personality and I love seeing you grow and becoming your own individual each day. You are just amazing, simply amazing and the best present we have ever had! You have brought so much joy and love into our lives and I can’t wait to watch you continue to grow and evolve into the person you were meant to be. You can do anything in this world you set your mind to and be anything in this world you want to be. You are simply THE BEST!! We love you to the moon and back and more! XOXO – Mommy and Daddy

Ashlyn's First Birthday
Abby's BFF, Ashlyn had her first birthday party at her house. It was loads of fun. Abby sat in the bouncy house and bounced a little bit and had fun on the swing. Mommy did an awful job at taking pictures to document the fun day. I am so sad to say Mommy didn't get one picture with Abby and the Birthday Girl. Happy Birthday Ashlyn!! Abby loves you (we all do)!
Abby's 1st Easter - April 2012
Abby had a great first Easter. It was busy but lots of fun! The Saturday evening before Easter we went to Melinda's for some family and fun time! We had dinner, did an Easter egg hunt with Cousin Daxton and Cousin Preston and played. I can't wait for Abby to get a little bigger. I really think Daxton and Abby are going to be very close since they live so close to each other. On Easter Sunday we had another Easter egg hunt with Cousin Preston and then Sunday evening had an Easter egg hunt with Cousin Colton. Abby sure does love her cousins! Abby loves to shake the Easter eggs like a rattle. Therefore, she loved the eggs filled with money. We put it all in her piggy bank. She got money in her eggs, clothes, a bench with her name on it, an Easter Bunny animal, a cookie jar, a Easter sock monkey, Little People Farm, lots and lots of books, bubbles, and the list goes on and on. Can we say well loved!?! It looked like Christmas at our house. I am so grateful to have Abby in my life so getting a little carried away might be Mommy's normal thing. Abby also got lots of gifts for her Grandparents, Aunts, Cousins, and family. Abby is so well behaved and perfect she deserves everything!
Abby's first Easter has come and gone and it was lots of fun! She looked beautiful in her Easter best and our little princess is just getting so big! Mommy is going to miss all the 'firsts.'
