Abby's 1st Trip - Allen, Texas

Abby took her first trip at 9 months old to Allen, Texas. Allen is where Aunt Rikki, Uncle Adriel, and Cousin Preston live. We traveled the four hours to visit and celebrate Preston's third birthday party. Abby did wonderful on the ride up to Allen. We played, she slept, we played, she slept, she ate, she listened to music, etc. She really didn't complain very much at all. When we got there on Saturday we went to Aunt Rikki's for Preston's birthday (see prior entry). Then we went to the hotel and checked in. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and had a great time! We went swimming at the indoor pool, shopped at the outlets, shopped at the strip mall by the hotel, and visited with family. Mawmaw and Pawpaw were in Allen too so Abby really enjoyed seeing them. She won't see them again for three months since they are taking a trip to Kansas and Colorado. Good for them but boo for us! We were so lucky to have Granny come with us and enjoyed all of her help and enjoyed the visit. Abbygale sure loves to play with her Granny! It was a great two night/three day vacation and we all had lots of fun!

However....

Monday morning Abby woke up throwing up and got sick every couple of hours on our way home. She woke up and got sick and then slept. This cycle continued for a good 24 hours. We took her to the doctor on Tuesday and they said it was a stomach bug and just give her pedialite/water. Then Abby gave the bug to Mommy and Granny and Daddy (a smaller dose). Abby got sick early Monday morning and we have all been sick sense (Monday-Thursday). We are all done throwing up but still very unstable. We are hoping to go back to our non-sick routine starting Friday, June 1st.

We ended the trip on a sour note but overall had a very good, memorable, and fun 1st vacation! We will definitely be back to Allen before long!

Preston's 3rd Birthday Party

Preston turned 3 years old and boy was it loads of fun! We celebrated in Allen on Saturday, May 26th (even though his birthday is May 28th). He had two pools, a bouncy house, crafts to paint, and ice cream cake. Abby got in the baby pool four times on Saturday and by the end of the day she was absolutely pooped! She had so much fun! Preston had a blast and got tons of cool boy toys! I think he is set for awhile! We hope you had a great birthday Preston!

Abby's First Toe Nail Polish

Abby is such a girly-girl and you know what that means? Our toe nails must be painted. Mommy painted Abbygale's toe nails for the first time before our big trip to Allen to visit with Aunt Rikki, Uncle Adriel, and Cousin Preston. At nine months Mommy thought that was old enough to color those toes. Can you guess the polish color? PINK, of course! Abby sat pretty well and watched. She is going to like pedicures with Mommy before long! Daddy needs to start a girly-girl fund for us!?! :)

Abby's 9 Months Old

Another month has gone by and now Miss Abbygale Kate is 9 months old. She is changing and learning so much. She is still an overall happy little girl but definitely knows how to throw a temper tantrum these days. She is the joy of our lives and I love spending every second possible with her. If I am with my girl I am happy!

What is Abby up to at 9 months old?

• She crawls! She has gotten really good at crawling too!
• She still loves to be held!
• She doesn’t like to be left alone. At all.
• She throws a temper now days when you take something away from her or if she thinks you left her.
• When Daddy walks by and doesn’t play with her, talk to her, and/or pick her up she throws a fit!
• She pulls her bows off of her head now from time to time, which Mommy is so sad about!
• She has started to pull up on things.
• She loves to play. She loves her slide, Little People, music, and carousel toy. She just loves books and toys in general!
• She is a pretty good eater these days. She doesn’t like baby food but likes real food with her favorites being ham, cheese, bread, and pastas. She still really doesn’t like cookies and sweets very much!
• Her hair is growing and growing and is pretty curly. Still not long enough for a little pony tail on the top yet :)
• Her eyes are still dark blue/greenish and just beautiful.
• She points and points and points these days!
• She talks and talks and talks too. She baby talks a whole lot but she says/tries to say “Momma,” “bird,” “baba (for bottle),” “up,” “hot,” and “that” among other things.
• She says “hot” a lot. She says “hot” when things are hot and when things are not hot at all. She’s a little toot!
• She is in 12 month clothing and size 3 diapers.
• She still is drinking bottles. In the morning she drinks about a 4 ounce bottle, and then she drinks 6 ounce bottles throughout the day (probably 3-4), and then a 8 ounce bottle before bed (around 8 pm). At night she is still drinking probably another 8-10 ounces total.
• She still uses a paci but only at night mainly. Every now and then when she is fussy she might use one when taking her naps or during the day but 99 percent just at night. She really doesn’t like pacifiers that much, which is good!
• Abby still DOES NOT SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT. She wakes up crying probably 4 times each night. However, she drinks a little milk and falls back asleep.
• Abby sleeps from about 8:30-9:00 pm (sometimes as early as 7:30 pm) until around 6:30 am. She usually takes a short nap around 9 am, 12 pm, and sometimes an afternoon nap. Each nap is somewhere between 10 minutes and 1 hour but occasionally she will sleep 2 hours.
• Abby still has just 4 teeth so far. Her top middle two and her bottom middle two. She seems to be teething again though so more should be coming soon!
• Abby is always playing with her feet if she is lying down on her back. They are her #1 source of entertainment when she is trying to go to sleep.
• Abby sleeps in bed with us still. Rarely does she get in her crib and if so it is only for about 1 hour max. We still need to work on this.
• Abby loves to be outside. If she is outside she is happy.
• Abby has been swimming a few times already and just loves it! She is our water baby for sure!
• Abby LOVES bath time too.
• Abby gives kisses and it is just darling. She even kisses the baby in the mirror :)
• Abby is still a TV junkie and loves Sesame Street and Baby First television.
• Abby’s nails still grow super fast so Mommy has to trim them a couple times a week.
• Abby has gotten very good at brushing her teeth. We sing the “Brush, brush, brush your teeth, each and every day so the boys will come and play” song. She thinks it is so funny!
• Abby pats you. That means she loves you and is happy.
• Abby moves her hands really fast when she wants you to pick her up. She gets mad if you don’t pick her up too!
• Abby can blow kisses, give kisses, wave hello and bye-bye, and act like she is talking on a telephone and say “hi” and “hello.”
• Abby will do something and then laugh and laugh. She cracks herself up now days.
• When Abbygale is mad she will not only scream but if you get close she will try and scratch you and poke your eyes out. She knows how to be BAD!!
• Abby really listens and focuses on what you are saying to her. She is really trying to take in and learn everything.
• You are still a pretty good car rider. Sometimes you get fussy but for how much you are in your car seat you are great!
• Abby still plays with Aunt Melissa while Mommy and Daddy go to work and Abby LOVES every minute of it! She loves her Aunt Melissa!!
• Abbygale is very shy when she is tired and other times too but sometimes she is very talkative and smiley towards strangers. At this point, you really just don’t know how she is going to act towards strangers.
