Abby is 2 Months Old!!

On October 23, 2011 Abby turned two months old!!  I absolutely am amazed that Abbygale Kate is already two months old!  I have mixed feelings.  I am so happy she is growing and is a happy and healthy baby girl.  I am sad that she is already getting so big!  She is the love of my life for sure.  I am absolutely 110 percent in love with her!!  She is so much fun and getting such a little personality!
Abby is a mover.  When she is awake she is constantly moving.  Punching, kicking, and trying to pull up and roll over.  She can lift and hold her head up for a good while now.  We have noticed her strength from just a few weeks ago has increased tremendously.
Abby still has beautiful blue eyes and her hair is slowly getting longer.  She did lose some hair on the sides but new growth is starting to show.
Abby is still in size 1 diapers but should be moving to size 2 diapers soon.  She is still wearing 0-3 month clothing.
Abby is such a little talker.  She coos (talks) a bunch.  She is a squealer too!  She has a high pitch yell when she is mad but such a cute squeal when she is telling us a story!
Abby is a very, very good baby and is so happy (for the most part).  She is so alert which I love because she is learning new things every day.  It amazes me!  Abby smiles and laughs and it melts my heart.  She is a very happy baby in the morning time; as that seems when she smiles and laughs the most.  She loves watching fans and loves to swing.  We read to Abby every day (our goal) and sit and play with her toys with her.  She watches the toys.  At this point it seems like she likes the color purple and all the elephant toys the best.  Those seem to be her favorite at the moment.  Abby just started sitting in the Bumbo chair some.  It is so cute!  Her head needs to get a little bit stronger but she does pretty good in it.
Abbygale is not taking any night time bottles anymore.  We hope this last but we will wait and see.  For about a week now she has only been taking her pacifier at night.  She will go to bed around 9:30 or 10:00 pm and wakes up one time around 3:30-4:30.  She takes her pacifier and will sleep until around 7:30-8:30 am.  This is awesome and we are so very pleased!  We need to tweak this schedule ever so slightly when I return to work (go to bed earlier because we will have to wake up much earlier) but for now I have no complaints!
Abby loves baths.  She gets so calm and loves the warm water on her.  She has no complaints!  Abby loves to play with her tongue too!  It is so cute!  Her favorite thing is the bottle!  She loves milk!  She gets a 6 ounce bottle in the morning and then 4 ounces throughout the day.  In the evenings (starting around 6:30-7:00 pm) she starts drinking lots of milk before bedtime (probably 8-10 ounces total from the start until bedtime).
To calm herself down if the pacifier is not available right away you will see Abby sucking on the side of her little hand or her tiny thumb!  It’s adorable!  Her little hand is so small.
Abby doesn’t like taking naps during the day.  She gets so angry!  She does take lots of cat naps throughout the day but doesn’t sleep long and sound at any point consistently.  When we are in the car she does fall asleep though.  The car calms her down and this seems to be when she takes her best daytime naps.  But if the car stops, Abby is awake and ready!
George seems to like Abby more these days.  He will kiss her now.  He kisses her little feet and checks on her when she is crying.  Matty still pretty much ignores her completely.  Both puppy babies are doing great with Abby though.  They are doggy angels!
Abby also likes to be outside.  She does so good in her stroller or outside on the porch.  I think she is going to be an outside girl!
Abby weighs 12.4 pounds.  We weighed her with the fish scale (redneck we know) J  Her two month doctor’s appointment is on October 27, 2011.  Stayed tune for details…
Abbygale Kate has brought so much joy to our lives.  She is exactly what the doctor ordered for us!!  She’s perfect…so sweet, lovable, and cuddly.  She is one beautiful little girl that we both adore completely.  She has us both wrapped around her little finger.  I can only predict how spoiled she is going to be in the future.  My guess as spoiled as you can get because our hearts are completely filled with only love for our girl!  We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you Abby to the moon and back and MORE!  XOXO!

Sleeping Milestone - Around October 11, 2011 (7 Weeks)

Starting around October 11, 2011, Abby is pretty much sleeping through the night!  Around 7 weeks old and sleeping pretty much through the night is spectacular!  Woohoo!  She goes to bed around 9:30 pm and sleeps until around 8:00 am.  She doesn’t want any food at night anymore.  She wakes up briefly one time and I give her the pacifier and let her cuddle with her mommy and she is back sound asleep.  When we wake up around 4:00 am we are up for less than 5 minutes!

Awesome milestone!  We are so proud of Miss Abbygale!  You are a great sleeper!

Abby's 6 Weeks Old

Abby is six weeks old already (6 weeks on October 4, 2011)!  That is so hard for me to believe because the time has just flown!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being at home with Abbygale.  We are both very attached to each other.  At six weeks old, Abby talks (or sings) in her sleep.  She has such a beautiful little voice it doesn’t bother us at all!  Abby still doesn’t like sleeping; she fights falling asleep because she is so afraid I am going to put her down or she might miss something.  Abby doesn’t like to be put down that is for sure.  She cries until someone holds her most of the time (and she really likes her Momma holding her)!

Abby has found her hair!  She pulls her hair now trying to figure out what that is on the top of her head.  It is so very cute!  She has become so alert these days it is crazy.  At times she is still in la-la land but at other times she is so aware, looking around and really studying her surroundings and people.
Abby smiles now but not on que.  She will smile and laugh in her sleep but she also smiles when wide awake too.  Sometimes it is when someone is talking to her and other times it is just when she is starring at you.
Abby also has a temper.  She gets mad and screams in a really high pitch cry.  Sometimes she is faking it until Mommy comes and gets her.  Other times she really has tears, which just breaks my heart!  She knows what she wants and expects it immediately.  Our little princess is in charge!!
Abby’s eyes still appear blue or aqua colored.  They are so big and beautiful!  Abby gets really round up at night right before bed time.  She becomes extremely hyper and kicks, punches, and moans non-stop.  She burns lots of calories doing her workout right before bed time!  Abby also pinches you when she gets hyper like this.  She’ll grab your hand and just drive those little fingers in your skin.  She really doesn’t want to go to bed!
Abby still loves her milk!  She drinks about 6 ounces first thing in the morning and then will drink 4 ounce bottles throughout the day.  Late in the evening she will drink about 6 ounces before bed.  However, she eats just whenever she is hungry.  We aren’t on any 3 hour schedule or anything.  She is getting better though!  Abby goes to bed around 9:30 or 10:00 pm and will sleep about 5-6 hours.  She will then drink a 3 ounce bottle and go back to bed for about a 1 ½ hours and then I’ll put her in bed with me and she sleeps until 8:00 or 8:30 am (so another 2 to 2 ½ hours).  I am hoping to someone try and get her to bed earlier at night and wake up a little earlier since we are morning people and not night owls.  However, I am not sure how to change this just yet.  Abby still sleeps in her bassinet beside our bed.  Around 8 weeks I am planning to move her to her crib in her own room.
Abby is in size 1 diapers now and probably weighs around 11 pounds!
I read to Abby every day (that is our goal at least).  We also do tummy time and different activities (her bouncer, swing, etc.).  Tummy time has really helped her to lift her head up.  She is one strong little girl!  She has really started to like her swing.  In the mornings she will sit in it for about 30 minutes to 1 hour (she just started this) and watches the television!  It is so cute!!
Abby is growing so very fast which is a little sad for Mommy.  We love her to pieces (I tell her I love her to the moon and back and more each day).  She has been so much fun and I really can’t imagine life without her now.  She is our little angel and such a blessing!
