Sea World - July 2012

We took a Helford family trip to Sea World San Antonio in July 2012.  The whole gang went to Sea World: Mommy, Daddy, Abbygale, Grandma, Grandpa, Kristen, Clayton, and Colton.  We had such a great time.  We stayed all day and Abby did so great!  She was a real sport in the heat.  We went to numerous shows (Azul, Elmo Rock's, One Ocean (Shamu), Sea Lions Tonight, Dance with Elmo).  We played at the Sesame Street Water Splash Pad, rode the carousel, and just explored the theme park.  Abby was really interested in everything but for sure her favorites were Elmo, Abby Caddaby, and the whole Sesame Street gang.  It was a fun thrilled day and we made so many memories.  We plan to go back a few times before the year is over.  Here comes Sea World in pictures:

Abby Stands All By Her Self!

Abbygale can stand up all by herself and balance.  She has been doing it for Aunt Melissa on and off for a while now and we have seen it for a second here and there.  However, on Friday evening, July 27, 2012 Abby stood up for a long time and balanced.  Then she did it again!  Mommy and Daddy were so happy we cheered for Abby!  We were at Aunt Kristen's so Kristen and Colton saw Abby's trick too and cheered her on as well!  She is growing up so fast!!

So at 11 month's Abby is standing all by herself!!  I bet she will be walking by her birthday!!

Abby's 11 Months Old!

Abbygale is 11 months old and in a few short weeks will be celebrating her very 1st birthday. This is crazy! She is ever-changing, oh so sweet yet oh so mean in the same breath, very funny, and just perfect. She’s absolutely adorable and so much fun! She has a great personality and can be a little comedian. She puts on a good show!

What is Abby up to at 11 months old?
1) She dances now to music which is so cute!
2) She laughs when you make faces or act silly.
3) She has learned to drop food on the floor for George and Matty. She even dumps milk out for George to drink up!
4) She mimics you now and plays so hard!
5) She has 8 very sharp teeth.
6) Her eyes have turned brown and she is my brown eyed girl!
7) She isn’t fond of hair bows and you have to trick her to wear one now. She can’t think she has a bow in her hair. If someone mentions her pretty bow or she sees it in the mirror she rips it out.
8) She got her first runny nose at 11 months old. Poor thing is so congested she has trouble sleeping.
9) She now lays on you and cuddles. These are the VERY BEST times!
10) Abby is such a “little mommy.” She hugs her dolls and gives them kisses.
11) There is a song that goes “Peek-a-boo eyes, peek-a-boo nose, peek-a-boo mouth, peek-a-boo face.” When it plays on her little radio she points to her face. Darling!
12) She does the hand motions now to “The itsy bitsy spider,” and “patty cake.”
13) She sings parts of the “Elmo has four ducks” (the quacking part) and “If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops” (the ah-ah-a-ah-ah-a-ah part) songs.
14) Her nails still grow so fast and are very strong!
15) Abby talks up a storm.
16) She has been called a “little bossy thing” already by her great-grandma. I think we are in for trouble!
17) She is such a fast crawler!
18) She pulls up and balances so well now but doesn’t quite walk.
19) Abbygale has mastered how to pitch fits.
20) When she wants the television on she says “Tec” for “Tec the Tractor.”
21) She crawls and then stretches out and lies down. She rest between her crawling now! It’s very cute!
22) She started drinking and getting use to whole milk out of a cup. We are at the very beginning stages.
23) Abby loves to draw on the etcha-sketch.
24) Abby can be very bashful at times.
25) When Abby has a wipe or wash cloth, she cleans her face or cabinet now. She’s a little cleaner!
26) She loves to cut the water on to the bathtub in the master bathroom.
27) In the bath tub, she puts her face under running water to drink from the tub. She also stands up on one leg while having the other leg in the running water playing.
28) Abby knows the sounds of a duck, cow, dog, bird, and she acts like a monkey.
29) Abby loves to say “hi” and “bye.” She has a country accent for sure!
30) Abby is in 12 month clothing and size 3 diapers. She wears a size 3 shoe.
31) Abby drinks about 5 bottles a day ranging from 6-8 ounces.
32) Abby is still not a good sleeper. She goes to bed around 8:30-9:00 pm, wakes up around 12:30 and moves to our bed (drinks a bottle), wakes up again around 2 am, and sometimes again around 4 am. She wakes up about 5:30 am during the week and on weekends will sleep until around 6:30-7:00 am.
33) Abby’s hair gets so curly with humid weather. She’s got curls for sure!

Abbygale is so much fun and I wouldn’t mind spending every second with her. I love her with all my heart! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me for sure. Taking care of a little one is so much work but I have enjoyed every moment of it. Abby—you are getting so big and you communicate so much these days. You are an absolute joy and we love you to the moon and back and more. You’re the best!! XOXO!!

Coloring a Dinosaur

Abby colored a dinosaur on the iPad.  We thought she did a very good job for a little over 10 months old!

Playing with Stickers

Abby played with stickers for the very first time on July 5, 2012 at Aunt Melissa's.  They made Mommy a beautiful picture.
