Mommy and Abby had a weekend away in September 2012 and went to Angleton to see Clint, Melinda, and Daxton. We had such a good time playing and visiting. This was our first time to see their new place and it was very nice. Abby loved all of Daxton's toys. He has a huge play room. Abby loved playing with Mr. Daxton even though she was a little fussy at times. We played, did a little shopping, played some more, and went to the Church Bazaar. Neither Abby or Daxton was too interested in riding the horses but they enjoyed the other little games. Daxton loved the train but Abby had no interest this time. We had a great visit and can't wait to do it again! Next time I think Abby won't be so moody. Hurry up teeth and come in!
On Sunday morning we went to Granbette's and visited with her for awhile. We played, had lunch, and played with Granbette's puppets. Abby had a great time visiting with Granbette and playing with Callie Jo.
The weekend was a success and we will have to definitely plan another trip to Angleton and West Columbia soon. We had a great time and thanks for having us! Abby and I love family time!

Abby is 13 Months Old
Abby has hit another milestone - she is now 13 months old. She is walking and talking and laughing and smiling like crazy these days. She is a handful at times also because she has a little temper but her personality is so cute. She is such a good little girl. She isn't around other children much so when she is I can really see the 'only child' syndrome. However, what do you expect when she is rarely around other boys and girls her age? With time and exposure to other kids she will learn how to interact and play with them more. Abby is pretty laid back and happy unless she is tired or teething. She is a doll and I love spending every second I can with her. Abby is definitely my best friend and the best playmate I could ever ask for! Abbygale without a question has Daddy and Mommy wrapped around her fingers. Without.a.doubt.
Abby at 13 Months:
Mommy slacked in pictures from 12-13 months. Maybe after the birthday party I was a tad bit tired?!? Busy!?! No free time to grab my camera?!? Who knows but here is Abby from 12-13 months in pictures:
Abby at 13 Months:
- Has 9 teeth and they are sharp. However, she has really started biting less and less, thank goodness!
- Is in 12-18 month clothing and wears a size 3 shoe (size 4 very, very, very soon).
- Abby is in size 4 diapers.
- Has curly, curly hair. In the mornings it is a big poof of a mess! Abby's hair is so pretty with those curls!
- Wants down now at stores when we are shopping. Likes to look up and down the toy isles playing with toys. Her latest favorite toy to play with at the store was a potty chair. Nice huh? Abby was such a good shopper; now she is a little tough to shop with.
- Walks great but still wants to hold your hand and wants you to go everywhere with her. However, when at the store not so much. She's off on her own shopping!
- Abby is good at pretending. She pretends to eat play food and pretends to have a tea party. She has such a good imagination and I hope this continues!
- Loves balls, tractors, cars/trucks, babies, and cooking.
- Loves to be outside. Constantly saying "out, out."
- Loves water, baths, pools, sinks, and water hoses.
- Really tries to play with George and Matty a bunch now. They are rarely interested. If food is involved they are okay with her messing with them. George will also kiss her from time to time now. This is a major improvement.
- Full of energy.
- Loves Tec the Tractor.
- Shy and bashful.
- Has the prettiest smile and giggle I have ever seen and heard.
- A mess. When she is made you know it. She likes to slap Mommy in the face and yell at Daddy.
- Does not like to hear the word "No." If Mommy or Daddy says it she just smiles and shakes her finger saying "no, no, no, no." If someone else says "no" (adult or child) she gets mad/sad and screams and cries. She then tells them "no, no, no, no" shaking her finger. How dare anyone tell the princess no! :)
- Is such a Mommy's girl. Yells for Mommy all day and night long. I love it even though I get absolutely no 'me' time. None. Not at all.
- Sleeps at night. That's funny. Wishful thinking. Wakes up about 3-4 times still for milk.
- Off bottles except at night some. At night it is a mixture of bottles/sippy cups.
- Sleeps in crib. That's funny too! Wishful thinking again. Sleeps with Daddy and Mommy. That's more like it!
- A daredevil. Started to jump on the bed, stand up in chairs, etc. Anything a little risky and she is all there!
- A okay car rider. Sometimes good and sometimes wants out.
- Learned to drink from a straw at 13 months. Yippie!
- Drinks from a normal cup really well and prefers cups as opposed to sippy cups. Watch out though because she can't resist playing in the water too!
- Finger painted for the first time at 13 months and cried when her hand got dirty. Didn't like playing in her birthday cake and doesn't like playing in paint at the moment. She wants to be clean just like her Mommy!
- A Little Diva and Drama Queen!
- So silly. Makes Daddy and Mommy laugh quite often.
- So freaking cute. The prettiest girl I've ever seen. Abby you are just beautiful - a beauty that's for sure!

Tec the Tractor
Abby has been watching "Tec the Tractor" since she was itty-bitty. It is on the Baby's First Channel, which is pretty much all she watching these days besides Sesame Street. Baby First is a channel for little ones that is educational. It helps with counting, colors, sharing, etc. "Tec" isn't a cartoon but is a red remote controlled tractor with eyes that lives on the family farm and has daily adventures. There are also other tractors, trailers, cows, sheep, chickens, hay and everything else you see in the country. She absolutely loves it! She asks for "Tec" at night, in the morning, and during the day. When "Tec" is on she sits still and really watches the television. She laughs at the tractors and animals and really cannot get enough of this show. We have about 15 Tec's DVR'ed and Bryan and I feel like we have watched each of them a million times. Abby on the other hand is in no way tired of Tec. From 0 to 1, Tec has been in Abbygale's life and I don't think that is changing anytime soon. Any tractor she sees in real life she screams "Tec" at. We are now practicing colors by saying "Red Tec," "Green Tec," "Yellow Tec," etc. Miss Abby is a country girl that is for sure. She has learned her animal sounds from Tec, learned that cows eat hay from Tec, and learned about tractors from Tec. Colors are also being taught by watching "Tec the Big Red Tractor." Our household LOVES TEC! Cartoons Abby is not interested in. A show on a farm with barns and animals and acres and acres of rolling hills that is what interests Abby! However, at the beginning and end when the theme song is played it is in a cartoon like setting; otherewise, the real life country setting will do :)

Abby's Combining Words
This past weekend Abby started combining words by saying, "Bye, Bye Tec (for tractor)" and "Bye, Bye Pawpaw." She is getting too big for her little britches. We have one smart little angel!

Abby's Walking
On Wednesday, August 29, 2012 Abby started walking!! She started taking about 2 steps and a couple of days later is up to about 8-10 steps. Woohoo! We have a walker!! Pretty soon we are going to be in trouble because she is going to be fast as lightning!!
Abby's 12 Month Check Up
Abby had her 12 month checkup on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 with Dr. Hughes. Everything went great and Abbygale is one healthy girl. She speaks about 15-20 words so Dr. Hughes was really impressed and said she is a very smart little girl! You got that right!
She weighed 22 pounds and 10 ounces which was in the 75 percentile. Her height was 30 ¼ inches which is in the 85 percentile. Her head circumference was 47 ½ inches which is in the 97 percentile. She has lots of brains!! We have a little genius!
They took a blood sample to check to see if she was anemic and she didn’t even cry. Her blood test came back normal. Poor baby got four shots. Two in one thigh, one in the other thigh, and one in the arm. All those shots break my heart. I feel like it is way too many but I want her to stay healthy and not get sick either. She cried and wasn’t very happy but overall did great! She kept saying “out” and pointing to the door. She was ready to get the heck out of the mean ole’ doctor’s office. Once we were in the hallway she was fine. Poor girl!
She has to go back in a month to get her flu booster (since one of the 4 shots was her flu shot) but her next checkup will be at 15 months. Of course this entails more shots! Abby is going to hate the doctor’s office like George. When we take George to the vet as soon as we get out of the car he is trying to get back in because he remembers the building and that he hates the vet! This will be Abby in a few short months I have a feeling!
Overall Abby’s 12 month checkup was a success! She is hitting her milestones and is one healthy and happy little girl. The only thing Dr. Hughes said she needs to improve on is her sleeping habits BUT to get her to sleep through the night he says we must let her cry, cry, cry! This breaks my heart just thinking about it. I don’t want my sweet, perfect little girl to cry! I keep hoping she will make improvements herself one day. Hopefully this one day is soon. Very soon.
