A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful memories of the present, and the hope and promise of the future.

Abby is 17 Months Old!

Abbygale is now 17 months old and is just a busy little bee. She is fun, active, silly, playful, and adorable at 17 months old. She also has a fierce temper and can be very demanding. She loves to point and say “no” and also hits and bites from time to time. If she doesn’t want something or doesn’t want to do something you know for sure. However, for the most part she is so loving, sweet, and kind and just wants your undivided attention. She still has both her Mommy and Daddy wrapped around her finger and there is no doubt that she is one spoiled and well loved girl. She thinks she is a Princess. Princess Abby to be exact. She commands and you do and listen as she says.

Abbygale at 17 months:

• Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
• Has dirty blond hair. It is getting long but still not long enough for a normal ponytail.
• Knows her body parts: eyes, nose, tongue, poo-peak (belly button), mouth, ears, tummy, feet, toes, fingers, butt, head, etc.
• So cute when you say something is stinky – you squeeze your nose.
• Has a mouth full of teeth. Your four ‘dog’ teeth are coming in/growing to full size. You only have 4 more molars until you have a mouth full of 20 teeth.
• About 16 ½ months got switched from whole organic milk to 2% organic milk. The switch was seamless and you had no issues.
• Loves holding hands, patting, and rubbing on her Mommy and Daddy.
• Gives kisses. Mostly you lean with your forehead when someone ask for a kiss but every now and then you give sweet kisses on the mouth.
• Is in 18 & 24 month clothing, size 5/6 shoe, and wearing size 4 diaper.
• Loves to bend and straighten and play the ‘up’ and ‘down’ game.
• Also loves to bend and straighten fast and you call this ‘jumping.’ It’s precious.
• Stays with your Grandpa and Nana during the workweek while Mommy and Daddy works. You stay home with Mommy once a week (sometimes twice) when she works from home. Spends the weekends and every evening with Mommy and Daddy. You have never stayed the night anywhere yet. Mommy and Daddy just aren’t ready. We love spending every second with you as a family.
• Loves to be outside picking up rocks and digging in the sand. Loves swings, cars, tractors, and just anything that involves being outside.
• LOVES bath time. Will pull one of us to the bathroom and try and climb in the tub to let us know you are ready for a bath. Plays and plays and plays. Splishes and a splashes. Blows bubbles in the water and drinks from the running water. Doesn’t really mind if water gets in your face when we are rinsing out your hair.
• Has been known to have accidents in the bathtub and shower from time to time now. You don’t understand why Mommy makes such a huge fuss. You continue to play and don’t let that bother you.
• Plays in her big playhouse, feeds her babies, plays princesses and dolls, loves puzzles, cooks, and playing with jewelry are her favorite indoor toys at the time.
• Loves television. Watches “Doc McStuffins,” “Peppa the Pig,” “Sophia the First – aka Princess,” and “Chuggington – aka “Choo Choo.” Still watches “Tec the Tractor” from time to time too.
• Goes to bed around 9 pm and wakes up briefly around 12:30ish, 3:30ish, and 6:00ish (on weekends) for milk. Drinks a little bit of milk and goes back to sleep. On weekends you sleep until about 7:30-8:30. On the weekdays, you get in the car about 5:15 am and sleep to Grandpa and Nana’s house. Usually you go back to sleep when you are dropped off at 5:45 am. Will sleep for a couple more hours. If you stay awake, you eventually go back to sleep around 7:00ish for a couple of hours.
• You take one nap a day anywhere from 1:00-4:00 pm for about 1 ½ - 2 hours.
• Your eating habits have improved. You still aren’t the best eater but you do eat more now. Your favorites are potatoes, macaroni and cheese, ice cream, chips, cheese, and sweet cookies and deserts. You eat pasta fairly well too. You still don’t really eat meat but within the next few months I’m sure you will. I know what you are thinking – Abby is not the healthiest eater. Just like her Daddy maybe?
• You love riding on the 4-wheeler and will sing while we are moving. I think it is relaxing to you.
• You love to clean and help your Mommy. You move rugs; take wipes and clean tables, toys, and chairs; sweep, etc. You are Mommy’s cleaning buddy.
• You love messing with computers and pushing all the buttons. You like to have a computer when Mommy is working so you can work too.
• Loves to play rough with Daddy and wrestle and tickle each other. You think that is just so much fun!
• You like to be hanging upside down and acting crazy with Mommy.
• You like to play “ring around the roses.” You play this with Mawmaw, Mommy, Daddy, and even your babies (stuffed animals). It is so sweet. You also know Patty-Cake, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, etc.
• You love books. You like to look at the pictures and carry books around too. Reading is fun!
• You like to wear Mommy and Daddy’s shoes. You try and put your feet in our shoes when they are left out.
• You have your own make-up bag and love to put on pretend makeup. You also love to take things out of the cabinets and drawers in the bathroom. Bathroom destruction in a matter of minutes.
• Grandpa and Nana call you a little tornado because by the end of the day you have toys everywhere throughout their house. They don’t make you clean up it appears.
• Daddy changed his first diaper and it was a messy one. He says he has changed more so maybe this is 1 ½ he has changed. I remember when he started one wet one before but I finished. Mommy wasn’t home and it was all done so “Go Daddy!”
• You say ‘stuck’ and ‘help’ a lot these days. You like to get your feet between the mattress and headboard and yell ‘stuck.’ Help is used when you are sitting or fall and need help getting up mostly. It’s pretty cute. But you can say anything you want too and already have a large vocabulary. However, you are quite around others and strangers.
• You love makeup and has managed to get into Mommy's make-up bag numerous times.  You have even managed to put eye liner on your cheek and get all beautified!

You are so much fun at 17 months. I loved you more than anything when you were a baby and I love you more than anything at 17 months as a toddler. Every day you are learning and just melt Mommy’s and Daddy’s heart. You pretty much get anything you want and rarely get in trouble. When you hit or bite I tell you to be a good girl and not a bad girl. You have been in time-out twice for probably 10 seconds. If I sit you down for a second it breaks your heart so I can only leave you sitting for like 5-10 seconds. However, then everything is good. I think you know when you do something you shouldn’t (hit/bite) but you get so mad you just can’t help yourself. Discipline is really few and far between in our household. I think that is because you are really just a perfect child!

My heart is so full of love for you. I just want to spend each and every day with you. That is a perfect day in my book. You are so sweet and precious at 17 months. We just love you to pieces. We work hard so we can give you every opportunity you want. I want the very best for you and want all your dreams to come true. The three of us make such a wonderful, fun family and I can’t imagine it any other way. You are always saying “Momma” or “Dada” and want one of us to hold you constantly. We fill loved and hope you know just how much we love you. We love you to the moon and back and more. XOXO!

The End of the Holiday Season 2012

The holiday season is now over and it is a new year - 2013.  It is back to our way of life - the working routine.  It was so hard to take Abbygale and drop her off this morning.  All I really want to do is stay home with her and spend every second together.  The past two weeks have been so nice.  We have got to just spend time together and enjoy life.  Why couldn't we win the lottery so we could continue to do so?  Even a small lottery will do.

Abbygale I love you SO MUCH and wish I didn't have to drop you off for 10 hours each weekday while I went to work.  However, in order to give you opportunities and make your dreams come true this is what I need to do right now.  I wish things were different but we will make the best of the situation.

We love you to the moon and back and more!  XOXO!

Helford Christmas 2012

Late morning on Christmas day, we went to Red Rock to celebrate Christmas with the Helford's.  We had a nice traditional lunch (ham and all the sides) with Nana, Grandpa, Kristen, Clayton, and Colton.  We then tried to take pictures, visited, and opened gifts.  Abbygale is one spoiled little girl and has so many toys it is crazy.  She got baby dolls, baby bottles, a stroller, a baby crib, a very cute little backpack with her name on it, money for her savings, an instrument set, and bath music toys.  She was one very happy little girl.

We had a great Christmas and got to visit and see everyone, which was nice.  After Christmas, we unpacked all the toys and found a home for them, took down the Christmas tree and decorations, and tucked away Christmas....until next year.
