Abby Girl you are already 5 months old (on January 23, 2012). You are just so darn cute and so much fun! I can’t believe how fast 5 months have flown by. In five very short months, you have changed our life for the better in so, so many ways. But today we aren’t talking about Mommy and Daddy, it’s your birthday so it’s all about you. What is Abby up to at five months old?
• You have such a personality and you love attention. In our household, it’s all about Abbygale and that is perfectly fine…you get all the attention!
• You are such a character and have really started to laugh daily, smile all the time, frown and make faces when you are upset. Your face really does do all the talking.
• You squeal in delight! You have a high pitch squeal when you get excited and it melts our hearts!
• Loves to be entertained by toys and other fun stuff. Let the good times begin because we have toys and toys galore!
• Love your piano exercauser and really is good at stopping on the keys and making music!
• Music…did I hear music?!? Abby LOVES music and still kicks and moves her body when any tune is playing.
• She still likes her ‘happy mat’ (changing table). If you are laying on the happy mat you are happy! I think you enjoy staring at your beautiful self!
• The moving puppy that plays music is your absolute favorite. You stare at it and if you can get a hold of it you try and give it kisses (or pull on her ears). You smile from ear to ear watching your pink and white puppy.
• Have really started to notice and stare and your puppies, George and Matty. They are starting to entertain you some. You grab for them some too!
• Have really improved with your hands. Your hands are always trying to touch, hold, and grab things now. It’s so very cute to watch. You put your hands together and pull at your fingers too!
• LOVES, I mean LOVES to be held and prefers being held over anything at all.
• In size 3 diapers; size 6-9 month clothing
• Drinks 5-6 ounces each bottle still about 3-4 hours apart. No bottles at night.
• You haven't improved on your sleeping pattern. You may have gotten a little worse at sleeping. I'm still not complaining because there are no bottles at night but I think you have gotten spoiled. You cry in your sleep A LOT here recently. I get up and give you your paci and you fall back asleep for maybe 30 minutes to an hour and then the cycle starts over again. Mommy feels tired so she gives in and moves you to our bed and you sleep so much better. One spoiled little girl! You are sleeping from 8:30 pm-ish and wake up weekdays around 5:35ish. We change your diaper and put you in your car seat. You drink a little bit of your bottle and then fall back asleep until around 6:45ish when we transfer you to Melissa's car. On the weekends you go to bed around 8:30 pm-ish and sleeps until 7:00ish, but the night time screams are still the same.
•You are now out of the bassinet and your baby crib has been moved from your room to Mommy and Daddy's room. This was Daddy's idea, so you start in your crib, which is in our room, but still some how end up in our bed. You want to be close to someone!
• You have begun eating and have gotten really good at it! You eat baby food about 2-3 times a day. Aunt Melissa gives you food once or twice when at her house and Mommy feeds you supper every night. When you are home all day, you eat 2-3 times each day, depending on our plans and the day.
• Everything you can get a hold of goes straight to your mouth.
• Gives the sweetest, I mean sweetest, kisses ever. They are absolutely priceless.
• LOVES her Mommy. Follows my voice and follows me if she can see me. Sometimes cries until she is in my arms and then happy as can be! Do I even need to say that I love it or is that a given by now?
•Knows her Daddy! When he comes in the room and she hears his voice she looks until she finds him and then smiles SO BIG!!
• Abby’s favorite game is “Boo!” If you say boo and make a little face she will giggle. It’s adorable!
• Abby likes ‘B’ words, such as boo, bubble, bee, buzz, etc. For some reason the ‘b’ sound makes her smile and laugh.
• Abby gets a little shy now from time to time and will smile and turn her head away. Is she going to be bashful?
• I believe you are starting to teeth. I can’t feel any teeth yet (but maybe one hard spot on your top, front gum), but you sure do drool a lot and chomp on everything you can!
• Your nails grow like weeds. I can cut them and I swear by the next day or two they are long, long again and in desperate need of a trim. If this continues when you are older, you are going to have beautiful nails, like Granny and Stacey!
• You can roll over from your stomach to your back (if you want to). You are getting so strong with tummy time! On your back you can roll to your side to try and get the toy you want!
nighty that has feet you get so mad because you can't see and grab your feet anymore!
•You were sick for the very first time (besides due to shots) a few days before your 5 month birthday. You were so congested and couldn't sleep well laying down. You cried a hurt cry all night long. You even got sick and puked all over yourself. It was in your hair, ears, neck, and all over your face. And in our bed. To make matters worse, Mommy was sick too so do I even need to say that was probably the hardest night of our lives. You didn't want your paci, you didn't want a bottle, you didn't want to lay in our bed. All you wanted was Mommy to hold you and walk around in the house. And Mommy was so sick so it took every bit of energy I could make to do it. Daddy helped A LOT too. No one could calm you down really and get you satisfied. Poor baby was just in pain! We got through it though and you felt much better after about a day and a half.
•When you yawn, you let out the cutest, I mean cutest, little noise. You are such the little diva!
•You are such a good baby. Besides not being able to get anything done because you want to be held. We love it though. We would rather hold you than do anything at all. You really just want to help and be involved in everything we do. You are so aware and just want to do what Mommy and Daddy do. This laying and doing nothing is not for Miss Abby. You like staying busy!
You have changed so much from the day you were born to five months. You were so beautiful when you were born and grow prettier and prettier each and every day. I'm not sure how that is possible, but you manage to do it! Your brain is soaking up everything right now and each day it seems like you are learning and doing something new. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to get home from work each day to spend time with you. Your the absolute best and we love you to the moon and back (and more)!! XOXO!
