She weighed 12 pounds 2 ounces (80 percentile), was 23 inches long (75 percentile), and her head circumference was 39 3/4 (75-80 percentile). She is very well proportioned and Dr. Hughes says she is one happy and healthy little girl.
She was given three shots and one oral dose of medicine. She did just fine with the sugar water they give to reduce the crying and heartbeat by 50 percent. She also did good with the oral dose of medicine. The three shots (2 in one thigh and 1 in the other thigh) broke her little heart. It was such a sad experience which I absolutely hated. Our little girl got sick with fever and not feeling good for that evening and all the next day.
After we left the doctor's office, we went straight home. Abby was fussy (can you blame her) and just wasn't feel well at all. We gave her some infant Tylenol and a bath and our little angel went to bed around 7 pm and slept all night until 9 am the next morning. Wow! She wasn't herself for about a day and a half and then slowly started to become the happy, content, and lovable little baby she normally is.
We don't like doctors and nurses at the moment. They made Miss Abby hurt and get sick...poor baby! She doesn't have to go back until 4 months but of course she has to get shots again. We are already dreading the next appointment. It is so hard to watch your mini-me cry with real tears rolling down her cheeks.
At the Doctor's Office Just a Chillin'...
After the Doctor's Office (Poor Thing Didn't Have a Clue of What Was Coming)...
