Abby at 3 Months Old!

Oh my gosh.  I don’t know where to even begin.  Our little girl is now 3 months old (November 23, 2011) – UNBELIEVABLE!  She is growing and developing so fast, which is bittersweet.  I love my little baby but I also love my little girl now!  It is amazing just how fast she is growing…the first three months have flown by!

I went back to work for two days right at 12 weeks (November 16 and 17, 2011).  It was so hard to leave my baby.  She had so much fun with Aunt Melissa but it killed me.  I am so not ready to leave my baby.  I LOVE spending every second with her.  She is the absolute best!  She is my life, my love, and my everything (and Daddy’s too)!
From the second month to now she has changed quite a bit.  She is so aware of her surroundings and way more alert.  She smiles a whole bunch and just started trying to laugh.  She really laughs hard in her sleep still and it just melts your heart because it is so cute.  She really follows you or an object with her eyes.  She is so much stronger now and tries to pull herself up to sit up.  Her head is still a tad bit wiggly but for the most part she has control.
The cutest thing is she is slowly starting to touch her toys and recognize them.  In her bouncy, at times she will swing her arm to try and touch the toys.  She is so focused on them.
She has started talking a lot.  It is just precious to hear that little voice.  She is going to be a non-stop talker I believe.
She has started throwing fits now too.  It is quite funny.  She will get mad (for no reason at all) and throw a Helford temper for a few minutes.  She is loud, loud so watch out!
Abby still has her beautiful dark blue eyes.  Her hair is getting longer.  It is growing and is a brown color but it still isn’t long enough for barrettes.  We wear big, big bows instead!!  Abby is in 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers.  She still sleeps through the night, pretty much.  She starts squirming around the early morning hours but we give her a pacifier or move her to our bed and she does okay.  No night time bottles.  She drinks 7 ounces for breakfast and then will drink 5 ounce bottles throughout the day (around every 3 hours).  In the morning she has been spitting up some so we keep bibs on her.  She usually goes through a couple of bibs every morning.  She doesn’t spit up nearly as much in the afternoon/evenings.  She tends to go to bed around 8:30-9:30 pm (sometimes earlier and sometimes later).  She is still in the bassinet beside our bed.  This habit is hard for Mommy and Daddy to break; not necessarily Abby.
Abby got scared for the very first time recently. Daddy coughed and scared Abby to pieces.  She cried a new cry (scared cry) for like five minutes.  It was so sad.  We both were hugging her and comforting her but it took a while for her to calm down.  Being more alert can have its disadvantages too.
Abby is still a good car rider for the most part.  If someone is in the backseat with her she is very good.  If she is back there by herself after a while she starts to fuss.  Who wouldn’t when you can’t see anything?
Abby loves bath time.  She has always been a super bath taker!  She has started to cry when I am putting her clothes on her though.  She doesn’t like getting her arms in clothes.  She has started wearing shoes now.  The newborn size is starting to fit her (with socks) so shoes are now another accessory to her outfits J
She loves to play and watch flashing lights and hear music.  Her feet just a kick and kick to music.  She still enjoys the swing and bouncer the most.  She is not a fan of tummy time.  She likes her crib and the keyboard that plays sounds in it too.  She will sit there for 10 or so minutes at times.  Her favorite toy is still the blue Baby Einstein elephant.  She smiles and smiles when she sees that.  We try and read a book every day.  She stares at the pictures now and listens to mommy tell the story.  Abby enjoys watching TV.  She stares at the TV and really focuses on all the colors and lights.  She is a TV junky just like her momma.  She loves soaps!  Daddy is a TV junky too (even if he won’t admit it)!
Abbygale is a joy…a pure joy to us.  We are so blessed to have her in our family and have enjoyed every second.  Life is so great with Abby.  Daddy and I are both in heaven having her.  She is so much fun we just can’t get enough of her.  Sometimes Mommy can’t keep the house clean or can’t find time to do laundry or cook but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I would rather be holding my angel then cleaning or cooking anyways.  Abby—we love you to the moon and back and more!  We are excited to see you grow and look forward to many, many, many years of fun that are filled with only joy and love!  Muahhh! XOXO!
