A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful memories of the present, and the hope and promise of the future.

Abbygale Kate Helford is Two!

Abby is now 24 months old.  At two, she is so energetic, silly, and beautiful.  She can be so sweet and cuddly, but she is also a little firecracker with attitude.  She has hit her terrible two’s for sure and is a little monster when she wants to be.  Even though Abby can be a little turkey, she is so adorable and can be so loving and sweet.  She is an angel and such a sweetie pie.  She is for sure more good than bad.  She is 99% angel and 1% monster/turkey.

When brainstorming about Abby at 2 years old, I would say: her favorite thing of all time is playing peek-a-boo.  She loves to “hide, hide, hide.”  She gets so excited and beams with a huge smile.  She is independent and says “I can do myself” or “my turn” or “no don’t sit with me.”  She is full of energy but also has a lazy bone.  She runs crazy through the house and outside but also loves to sit in bed and watch television with her milk.  She’s tall and has the most gorgeous curly blond hair.  She is absolutely beautiful and knows it.  I can ask her “who’s beautiful?”  and she will respond “Abby is.”
At 2, Abby is:
*Outgrowing her 2T clothing.
*In a size 6-6 ½ shoe.
*Wears a size 5 diaper but also has panties.  She is slowly starting to potty train but not there yet.
*Has big hazel brown eyes.  They glow with beauty.
*Sings, sings, and sing.  She loves music and loves to sing and DANCE!
*Is not a very good nighttime sleeper.  She still wakes up numerous times at night for milk and just recently, to rock.  Mommy and Daddy STILL do not get very much sleep.
*Not a good napper.  Doesn’t always take naps and really just doesn’t like to sleep.  Period.
*Is about 30 pounds of pure love!
*Loves to play “Abby Doctor.”  She uses her doctor kit to fix all boo-boo’s.
*Likes to color and paint.
*Loves to be outside playing with the water hose and playing with George and Matty.
*Loves to help.  She wants to always be involved and help vacuum, put up clothes, fix stuff with her daddy, etc.
*Not a good eater.  Doesn’t eat very much still.  Likes grilled cheeses, French fries, cheese, chips, Cheetos, ham, etc.
*Loves her friend “Colton.”  She calls Colton her friend even though he is her cousin.  Always wants to go to “Colton’s house” or have “Colton come to Abby’s house.”
*Now has a big girl bed instead of crib.  We converted the crib into a toddler bed.  BUT she has never really used/slept in the bed so we will see.  She thinks it is cool and likes to jump in the bed now and cut the lights on and off.
*Fights showers/baths now.  Sometimes goes a little stinky.
*Loves to hide under the sheets, in Daddy’s closet, behind the chair, in the shower, under the office table, behind doors, and anywhere and everywhere.
*Her favorite shows are Sponge Bob Square Pants and anything with animals (Paw Patrol, Littlest Pet Shop, etc).  She still watches Doc McStuffin, Peppa, Bubble Guppies, etc too.
*We have an above ground pool this summer but at 1 ½ to 2 she hasn’t been that impressed with it.  She will get in sometimes for a few minutes but not for long.  Hopefully next year she will love it!
*Stays at her Nany’s and Grandpa’s house while Mommy and Daddy work during the week still. She loves the attentions he gets! Thankfully, Mommy works from home at least one day a week so we get a little more extra time together.
*Her social skills have greatly improved.  She watches other kids, sometimes tries to copy them, and is very interested in what other kids are doing.  She doesn’t cry around babies/kids anymore like before.  She does still want her Mommy close though, which is a-okay with me!
*Has been sick a few times.  Has had a fractured collar bone around 23-24 months, 2 year molars have caused fever, drooling, etc for a few days.  Poor baby!

Abbygale Kate Helford – You are the most amazing thing that has ever happened to us.  We love you beyond any words can express and has really made each and every day special.  Sometimes you get angry with us and throw fits and sometimes we might get a little frustrated with you for not sleeping or just not listening in general but we love you so, so much.  We have made so many fun memories as a family in two years: we have taken family trips to the beach; taken a girl’s trip to Portland, Oregon; gone to Zilker Park and the zoo numerous times; have seen so many Texas sights together; gone swimming a bunch; played at the playgrounds; and just bonded as a family at home and with other family members/friends.  Life is great because of you.  You brighten the sun, make the rainbow glow, and overflow our hearts with love, happiness, and joy.  I can’t wait to make millions of more memories as a family and continue to grow closer and experience life together as a unit.  We love you to the moon and back and more!  XOXO!  Happy 2nd Birthday our love!
