Aerial Picture of our House/Land
This morning as soon as we got back from our traditional breakfast taco weekend stop, a car pulled up behind us and showed us the below picture of our house and land that was shot back in May. Of course she was trying to sell us an aerial picture that was taken by the company she works for. So what do we do? We purchase a picture for a small fortune (pretty pricey in my opinion but we thought it was pretty cool). Actually we got to keep the original picture you see below but we picked a different finish (a more country looking, matte finish that has texture to it). The overall picture will be slightly enlarged and the neighbors chicken coops will be cropped out as well as all of the hay equipment scattered by the barn. However, once you pay for this expensive piece of artwork, they leave you with the original, unaltered print as well. The finish product will arrive in 6-8 weeks. The frame they provide is made by the Amish and is very pretty even though I am a barn wood type of gal! Besides being sick from spending some unplanned money, I am excited to see the finished product because I think the original is pretty neat since it shows the entrance Bryan built, our land, barn, and home! We have worked hard for our land and home and now we can see what we worked/are working for each day hanging on the wall. I think we will love this pictures for many years to come.
Papa
This weekend we went to visit my Grandpa at his pasture. Well actually we were delivering hay to him but it also turned into a nice little visit. I LOVE seeing Papa work at the pasture--it is his home away from home!
Papa, Bryan, and I all squeezed into the Mule and took a ride to feed the cows!
This little baby is a cutie!
This is also one of my favorite heifers that he's got.
Papa checking all his cows!
How sweet!
I love this stripped cow!
We had a great visit with Papa at the land. It was such a beautiful weekend--fall is just around the corner and I am loving that! Being in the country really does help you appreciate and love the simple things in life. Country life is so peaceful and really does fill me with joy!

George!
I use to wonder how George would be with kids. If you know George he is pretty unsocial unless he really knows and loves you. I have been pretty impressed by George when one of my nephews is over--he does so much better than I ever imagined. What do you think?

A Good Weekend
If one of my nephews is involved, it will always be a good weekend! This past weekend I was lucky enough to watch my nephew Colton. We had so much fun playing! He is growing up so fast it is just amazing. He laughs and laughs and is just so darn cute! I love when I get the opportunity to hang out with Colton and I must say I think he likes me too :)
He is such a doll!
Playing with his toys!
Loves the butterfly that plays a bunch of music!
Look at those gorgeous brown eyes!
Such a cute, cute, cute boy!
Just a playing!
I love this picture of him playing with his paci!
I'm so glad his Mommy and Daddy let him come visit his Aunt Lorey from time to time! He is a perfect little angel!

Rainbow
I haven't seen a rainbow in a good while and yesterday we not only saw one perfect rainbow but also a double rainbow. The second rainbow was a little less crystal-clear but it was gorgeous! Like always, my pictures don't do any justice to the scene but I thought I would share! We took in the sight since it is a pretty rare thing! I love rainbows...they instantly relax me (I think God knew that is exactly what I needed yesterday..and today...and probably tomorrow)!

Happy Birthday Granny!
Earlier this week was my Granny’s birthday! Some of the family, but not all, was able to meet at the Hyatt for dinner. I love my grandparent’s to pieces. They have done so much for me through the years and are just the best people you could ever meet. THEY ARE THE ABOSLUTE BEST AND MEAN THE WORLD TO ME. Since it is Granny’s special day, here are some things (but not all since the list would be 1,000s of lines) that my grandma has done for me over the years that I have very fond memories of:
1) brought me 7-11 nachos (my favorite growing up) at least once a week when I called and told her Dad was cooking something I didn’t like for dinner;
2) was basically my tutor all through grade school and college (I learned all my great study habits and basically everything I know because of her);
3) always took me swimming at Lake Thunderbird growing up and then we would have a picnic at the park;
4) always let me make a pallet by the side of her bed because I didn’t want to be too far away from them when I stay with them;
5) from time to time surprises me with a little something and always makes me feel special;
6) spends holidays with me when my parents are out of town;
7) we have had many, many conversations about the soap operas (All My Children and One Life to Live) that she got me hooked on since Junior High;
8) has sewed many buttons for me and altered many clothing items for me. She has shown me numerous times how to sew on a button but for some reason I just can’t figure it out (wink!, wink!);
9) has been my role model all my life due to her lifetime achievements and just being a top-notch individual; and
10) is always there for me and supports me no matter what.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANNY! You’re the best and I look forward to many, many more years to build memories together! I love you!
