Abby's First Halloween

Abby's first Halloween was a success!  She was a-dorable!!  Just absolutely the cutest little girl EVER!  We celebrated Halloween Eve by dressing in Halloween attire and going to the kickball game to watch Aunt Lauri, Cousin Melinda, and Aunt Kristen.  It was a tad bit chilly but we had a good time!  Then on Halloween, Abby got all dressed up and we went to dinner at LaCabana (YUM!) and then did a little trick-r-treating with Cousin Daxton, Melinda, and Becky.  Abby loved being outside in the wagon or being held.  Daxton was such a cutie pie too!  We then visiting with Granny a little bit and then stopped by and saw Sydni and Claire on our way home.  Once we got home we Skyped with PawPaw and MawMaw and Aunt Rikki and Cousin Preston!  Abby had a good, fun first Halloween!  My little angel was just precious in her Halloween tutu; I didn't want to take it off!  Once we got in our pajamas it was a little sad for Momma because Abby's first Halloween was officially over.  The memory is glued in my brain so I will remember it forever because my little baby girl was the prettiest thing on this planet (or any planet for that matter)!

Mommy and Daddy LOVE our Miss Abbygale Kate!  Mmmm Muouh!

2 Month Checkup - October 25, 2011

Abby had her two month appointment with Dr. Hughes on October 25, 2011.  Everything went well...that is until she was given her shots.  She was such a happy little girl just a squirming and kicking in the doctor's office.  She didn't cry one time for the doctor or the nurse until the mean ol' nurse gave her three shots!  She then screamed and screamed.  It broke both Mommy's and Daddy's heart :(

She weighed 12 pounds 2 ounces (80 percentile), was 23 inches long (75 percentile), and her head circumference was 39 3/4 (75-80 percentile).  She is very well proportioned and Dr. Hughes says she is one happy and healthy little girl.

She was given three shots and one oral dose of medicine.  She did just fine with the sugar water they give to reduce the crying and heartbeat by 50 percent.  She also did good with the oral dose of medicine.  The three shots (2 in one thigh and 1 in the other thigh) broke her little heart.  It was such a sad experience which I absolutely hated.  Our little girl got sick with fever and not feeling good for that evening and all the next day.

After we left the doctor's office, we went straight home.  Abby was fussy (can you blame her) and just wasn't feel well at all.  We gave her some infant Tylenol and a bath and our little angel went to bed around 7 pm and slept all night until 9 am the next morning.  Wow!  She wasn't herself for about a day and a half and then slowly started to become the happy, content, and lovable little baby she normally is.

We don't like doctors and nurses at the moment.  They made Miss Abby hurt and get sick...poor baby!  She doesn't have to go back until 4 months but of course she has to get shots again.  We are already dreading the next appointment.  It is so hard to watch your mini-me cry with real tears rolling down her cheeks.

Pumpkin Photo Shoot

After we got home from the pumpkin patch I decided to try and do a mini photo shoot of Miss Abby with her first two pumpkins.  The idea was a creative and great one but it didn't turn out quite as planned.  Abby still wasn't having any picture taking.  She wasn't in the mood and told me that by crying.  After awhile she decided she was ready for a nap so fell asleep when I was trying to take her picture.  Needless to say, I don't think we got one picture with her eyes open (without crying) or smiling.  However, they were still so cute we decided to blow one up for our family wall!

Abby we love you frowning, smiling, crying, laughing, and whatever else you decide to do.  We just 100 percent LOVE YOU!!

Abby's First Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch in Elgin on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Abby got to share her first pumpkin patch experience with Mommy, Daddy, Melinda, Clint, Daxton, Lauri, Kailei, and Ashlyn. We had a lot of fun looking at all the different size pumpkins, taking pictures, and riding the tractor to a pumpkin hunt. Abby found two baby pumpkins that she got to take home with her! She was pooped after the long day outside but had so much fun!

Abby wasn't having any picture taking...she just wasn't in the mood. Therefore, we didn't get one of her smiling. She was either barely having it, grumpy, or tired :) She is so cute even without a smile on her face!!

Ashlyn's going to get Abby's bow!!

Abby's Grandparents

Abby LOVES her grandparents!  She loves to coo and smile at Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  Abby and Mawmaw seem to have a special little bond forming.  I love watching them together.  Abby loves to spit up on Pawpaw and make him start gagging too!  She thinks it is just hilarious!  She only does it because she loves Pawpaw so much!
Grandma and Grandpa also come to see Abby and she enjoys their visits.  She loves to stare at them and talk to them.  She goes to their house some and visits too.  She can't wait to drive Grandpa's tractor when she gets a little bigger.  She loves Grandma's swing and will sit and play in it for a good while!

Abbygale has the best grandparents ever!!

Milestone: Abby Sleeping, 8 1/2 Weeks

Abby slept through the night entirely!!  On October 22, 2011 (at 8 1/2 weeks), Abby went to bed at 9 p.m. and slept in her crib until 6:30 a.m.  We did cuddle and go back to bed because she was still tired.  She actually slept until 8:50 a.m.  Wow!!  My baby is getting so big!

Mini Milestone: Sleeping in Crib - Wednesday, October 19,2011

On October 19, 2011 we had a mini-milestone!  Abby slept in her crib for the very first time at night.  She has been sleeping in the bassinet by the side of our bed but she wanted to be a big girl and sleep in her comfy crib that vibrates!  She did so good.  We cut on her music and ceiling mobile and she stayed asleep!  She went to bed around 9 pm and slept in her crib until 2 am.  I think Momma was more worried than Abby.  It was sad for Mommy because she loves Abby being very close by.

However, at 2 am Mommy and Abby snuggled until 8 am!  It was a win-win situation for everyone!  Our Abbygale is growing up way to fast!!

Will the bassinet by the bed be packed up soon?  Stay tuned to find out.  Let's see if Abby continues to do good in her very own big girl crib!
