A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful memories of the present, and the hope and promise of the future.

Such a Good Rider!

Abby is such a good car rider and thank goodness for that!  She is in the car alot since she rides to Austin with us each morning to work.  Then she rides with Aunt Melissa to her house.  After work we run around doing errands and on the weekend we run around in the country or to Bastrop, etc.  So Abbygale is in her car seat each and every day (for the most part) but she is so good in the car.  We are very lucky!  Mommy sits in the back so we have one big party in the car while Daddy is our taxi driver!

One of Abby's favorite toys right now is her giraffe teether, Sofie.  We have two: one for the house and one for the car.  It feels so good on her gums!

Abby LOVES Her Feet and Toes!

You have started to REALLY, REALLY like your feet and toes.  Whenever you have the chance, you are playing and grabbing your little feet and toes.  It's adorable!  You can entertain yourself for  20 minutes with your feet.  You are currently mesmerized by those sweet toes.  You like to chew on those toes too!  It is the best teether there is!!  You are so sweet those toes must taste like candy to you!  Abby you are just too funny!

Soap Opera's

When I was off on maternity leave, we would watch our two favorite soap opera’s every weekday from 12 pm – 2 pm. All My Children came on during the noon hour and One Life to Live started at 1 pm. These soap operas I started watching with Granny when I was probably in Junior High and have never stopped watching them. You are a Little Miss TV Junkie and really watched TV when these two shows came on each day. It was just part of our routine. All My Children ended after41 years in September 2011. After I went back to work we recorded One Life to Live and watched it in the evenings. However, One Life to Live was also cancelled and ended in January 2012 after about 44 years. Mommy grew up watching soap opera’s because Granny watched soap operas for as long as I can remember. She LOVED them and I also became very attached to them as well. They were filled with drama and everyone seemed to have problems…CONSTANTLY. This makes great television, even though I do not prefer either one in my real life.

When you get older soap operas may not exist at all anymore since slowly they have begun cancelling them. This is a sad thing because this is one tradition I will probably not get to pass down to you. Daytime television is changing. For 4 ½ months, you enjoyed daytime television’s soap operas too. You really did…you watched All My Children and One Life to Live like you recognized the characters and knew what was going on. It was pretty cute! However, Mommy never really got into the other soaps out there (The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, and The Young and the Restless), so we currently have no plans of watching anymore daytime soap operas.

It will be interesting to see if soap operas are a way of the past or if, when you get older, will be as popular as they have been? If they are history when you get older, you were a fan for 4 ½ months of your life!

Abby's Eating

You have been eating rice cereal for about a week now and I have determined you weren't a big fan of the cereal.  I mixed the rice cereal with formula and you really just wasn't that interested in it.  Sunday, January 8, 2012, I decide to try some stage 1/2 foods.  We picked peas and you were a lot more interested in that.  You ate more than you did with the rice cereal and didn't turn your head trying to hide your mouth.  Sunday for dinner I mixed some peas with the rice cereal and you ate good again.  Therefore, I have determined you didn't like the plain rice cereal taste because it tasted like bad milk to you.  The peas give it a little flavor so you are more interested in that.  So you are officially on baby food, as I am going to try and give you some each night and Aunt Melissa is going to give you some during the day.  I think you are going to like it because you stare at people eating and try to figure out what they are doing and why.  You seem to be very interested in food.
To date, you have eaten rice cereal, peas, real avocados, cinnamin apple oatmeal, and pears.  You seem to like them all okay (again, as long as the rice cereal is mixed with something to add flavor).

One Very Old Family Picture

Mamaw, your great-great grandma, was one of a kind.  She was absolutely wonderful.  I would love to act like I was sick so I could stay the day at Mamaw's.  I always had so much fun with her and she was the BEST cook ever!  My favorites were her smothered steak, rosettes, and banana cake with frosting.  However, everything Mamaw cooked was so good and absolutely home-cooked.  Mamaw loved to dance, which she taught me how to polka dance in her living room.  Mamaw just shinned because she was just a great lady.  I loved her dearly!

Here is a very old picture of Mamaw's family.  This picture is the Annie & Frank Kruppa family. Elsie Kruppa Zimmerhanzel, Edna Kruppa, Annie Kruppa Valek, Richard Kruppa, Emma Kruppa Stolle, Mary Kruppa Brosch (Mamaw).

It's Back To Reality For Mommy and Abby!

Dear Abbygale,

The hardest, I mean HARDEST, thing I’ve ever had to do was go back to work full-time and leave you. We have spent almost every second together since your birth so after 4 ½ months of togetherness 24/7, it was REALLY, REALLY difficult. However, like the rest of the world, we’ll get through it. If I were a millionaire or had any choice at all, I would definitely, without a doubt stay home with my baby girl. However, I want to give you not only things you need in this world but I want to provide for you all the things you want too. I want you to experience and do anything your heart desires so in order to give that to you, I must work. I do plan on spending as much time as I can with you and making all of our time together really count and be quality time. Mommy may work full time but she gets time off and plans on using her time (instead of saving it) to spend time with you and Daddy. We will make it work, still have lots of time together, and have some money to play and shop with! Since you were born, you have been a shopper!! And let’s not forget try and save for your future too! Just know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you to pieces! You are my world, my everything and when we aren’t together I miss you terribly!

When I went back to work, Aunt Melissa was so very nice enough to keep you. She’s awesome and the absolute best. I spent lots and lots of time at Danny’s, Melissa’s, Stacey’s, and Drew’s house when I was growing up and only have awesome memories. LOTS of fun memories! Melissa is so much fun to be around so I know without a doubt you are going to have loads and loads of fun! You probably will not want to come home :) I can’t thank Melissa enough for helping us (and Danny too)…our appreciation is more than words can say. This is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, things anyone has ever done for us and we are so grateful. Knowing I don’t have to worry about Abby at all is a great, great gift! It may be hard for me to go back to work for the simple fact of not being with you, but I couldn’t of asked for a better person for you to hang with while I am working. Through the years I have built a great, close relationship with Melissa and am excited to know that you are going to have that opportunity too!

So the New Year has arrived (2012) and that means on to this new chapter in our life. It may be a challenge at the start, but as long as Daddy, Mommy, and Abby are together we will make it no matter how many bumps are along the way. In the evenings, we may be eating sandwiches for the rest of our lives because I know I will not want to be in the kitchen cooking nor will Daddy. We’d rather be playing with you!! Sandwiches are okay as long as we find that good work-life balance, right? Work because we need to so we can provide opportunities for you and us and life because you are our life 100 percent. You’re the best daughter we could ever ask for and everything we do is for you!! Even if we aren’t together for some hours throughout the day that doesn’t mean we aren’t thinking about you. That is probably all we are doing—thinking about you because we love you as much as you can possibly love anything at all.

How Do You Clean House With A Baby?

How do you clean house with a baby that wants her Mommy to hold her 24/7?  Remember: We are cleaning so we look rough; we are definately not styling!
